Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that suspect a cause
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suspected cause
I suspect the clutch hydraulic port are on the right hand side of the car for both LHD and RHD models.
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
The clutch mechanism is all hydraulic - the fluid is shared with your brakes, so there's no cables going to the clutch - the shifting mechanism used cables.
Leading evidence: 'clutch hydraulic port are' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'clutch hydraulic port are' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Use cables' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Especially on a slope, when I acutate the clutch I can actually feel the clutch cable underneath my feet.
Is this normal? Feels like the cables are going to rip themselves outta the floor.
The hydraulics gotta move something at the flywheel right? And the flywheel is behind the driver, right?
There has to be some mechanical linkage from the front of the car to the flywheel, if I'm not wrong.
Am I alone in feeling the cable move?
Clutch pedal pushes the clutch master cylinder which through hydraulics, pushes the clutch slave cylinder. No cables.
I suppose if the hydraulic line was loose you might feel it move. But I thought (but not sure) the line was on the left side of the car or perhaps in the center.
How is the Cayman clutch linkage structure like?
Could anybody point me to a technical document which shows how the clutch pedal is linked to the clutch itself?
I'm actually feeling the cables move under my feet, on a RHD cayman, just wanna understand what's happening.
The clutch mechanism is all hydraulic - the fluid is shared with your brakes, so there's no cables going to the clutch - the shifting mechanism used cables.

OK then I must be feeling the hydraulic piping move about under my feet. Explains it why my brakes also influence the moving about. Is there just a thin layer of steel plate between our feet and the hydraulic piping?
I don't know what you're feeling, but the floor is pretty thick, and the carpeting and padding are on top of that... I really doubt you're feeling the hydraulic lines moving around...

Very very interesting. I have been wondering about this also, and was going to ask when I had my next service.
In my RHD car, if you have the clutch depressed fully to the floor, and then stamp on the brakes and then release the brakes rapidly, you can definately feel something moving (like a pipe or cable) under the clutch pedal.
Obviously this is a RHD phenomenon, and now I know that the clutch and the brake share some of its hydraulic cabling, it makes more and more sense.
I'll check it out tomorrow.
Cheers
Jack
Thanks for corroborating this, Jack. I thought either I was going crazy or some of the weld seams have gone loose - but the weld seams theory is kaput as I tested by `torquing' the chassis and the funny feeling didn't appear.
To understand further I think we need a schematic of the lines and the clutch. I suspect the clutch hydraulic port are on the right hand side of the car for both LHD and RHD models.
So, I guess both the LHD and RHD guys have the hydraulic lines on the right of the car, so the LHD guys don't experience the squirming, and the RHD guys do. The LHD passengers may experience it though.
I believe Porschelibrarian has the schematics (wiring at least, fromthe thread i read) maybe he has the rest as well.
Anyone know if he's active around here? The thread pointed to a renntech forum.
