Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Well, its been about a year since the release of the cayman. I have had mine for about 11 months. I was just wondering what warranty issues have come up over the last year for cayman owners. Personally I have only had the issues with the loose pressure plate bolts which has been noted as a problem by many of you over the last year. so...what things have gone wrong with your cayman that were identified and then covered by the warranty?
1. Faulty wiring harness which resulted in PASM failure. Full refund received for the car after 8 months of ownership as the OPC wanted to rewire it. cr since rewired and advertised £2k over list price as it has PASM and SC where there is a long wait in the uk
2. Replacement of a couple of colis on the engine
The most unreliable car that I have had in a long time. Now considering whether to buy another or not
1. Engine mounting bolts to long and rubbing coolant pipe. New bolts and pipe
2. Rear hatch opening when driving. new program
3. Rear hatch ratlle. new rubber stops
4. Windows dropping. new program
5. Noise in left door pillar. waiting for new plastic trim
1) Driver's side window not going back up occasionally after closing door. - "fixed" by dealer.
2) Noise from driver side pillar. - went away by itself.
3) Rubber flap in front of rear wheel incorrectly put on - fixed myself.
Waranty issues
Bought it in June, 5,400 miles since. The only warranty work was the reseal of the oil pan. It wasn't dripping but it was seeping. The dealer kept the car overnight and gave me a new Q7 as a loaner. No other problems so far.
I got my car on January 27th, and I clocked 10,300 miles yesterday. So far, except for a couple of minor mods all I've done was to change the oil at 2500. That's it so far. No warranty issues yet.
Had mine since May 2006 with 13,400 on the odo. Broken cupholders (and Porsche changed the design on the replacements
) and my passenger window not wanting to roll completely up on the first try.
Pressure plate on clutch
Rear hatch noise
Noise under A/C expansion plate on the top of the dash.
Thats it, pretty good really. They were all fixed without complaint.
My old car was a Rx-8 and it was in more and they fixed less of the issues so relatively speaking. I'm very happy.
Still marvel at the car each and every day.
Gmorat.
1. Pressure relief valve in oil pump. Twice
2. Rear Hatch knocking. New rubber bumpers.
3. Squeeling A/C. Re-pressurise system.
4. Grease smears on windows. New window seals.
5. Rattle from Hatch. New 3rd brake light.
6. Rattle from Dash. New Sport Chrono.
7. Resonance from exhaust between 4000-4500rpm. Re-fit exhaust system.
8. Key Fob re-programmed.
All in 20,000 miles and 1 year 1 month.
Also replaced brake fluid after boiled at the track and had all round new tires and pads.
Jack
Believe it or not, none since March and 18k miles (14 autocross events and 2 track days).
New front PS2s @ 7k miles - new PS2s all around @ 14k miles
Two oil changes @ 5K and 14K brakes flushed and bled @ 14k miles.

Only the hatch issue... Dealer after 6 months still trying to resolve... I told them there's new rubber bumpers available... What do I know, I'm just the owner of the car...
`07 Cayman 2.7, delivery 19 August. Drivers side seatbelt retractor needs to be replaced as it no longer fully retracts. No other issues. My second Porsche and it is absolutely incredible!
Did you pull off the rear portion of the skid plate to see where the oil was coming from? I have an 07 and just noticed the skid plate a little wet in the rear, pulled it off, and seen the area around and on the drain plug wet with fresh looking oil (small wet area but not dripping). Was this similar to your problem?
Larry
Had rattling sound from roof. Fixed under warranty. Also they fixed the thumping noise over bump issue (under warranty). On the invoice it said: Found rubber snubs on rear hatch loose - adjust snubs.
Loose Pressure Plate Bolts
Clutch has excessive wear due to loose bolts
Pressure plate worn concave
Flywheel hot spotted
Remove and replace transmission
Replaced flywheel, pressure plate, clutch disk and release bearing, clutch fork lube
This is straight off the service ticket. All work performed was under warranty at 1356 mi.
problems
Three main problems:
Random driver side window lowering when using the key fob to unlock the doors/open the front or rear trunk. Window would not return to closed position automatically. Dealer "re-learned" the window motor, which fixed about 95% of the problem (window still does not return to closure from the normal drop position).
Rattle of the rear window surround.
Oily streak on driver's window.
11186 miles since 8 Jul. Even with all the problems, I absolutely love the car
Let's see I've had:
1) Intake lifter on passenger side of engine
2) exhaust manifolds with cats replaced
3) new windshield
I think that's it as far as I can remember off hand anyway...
