Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

OK, this is not a big deal, so don't jump down my throat. But is anyone else annoyed that when you wash your car and open either the front or rear lid, that water drips down inside. Just a pet peeve, but my old MB E430 channeled the water into the runoff rails. I know, completely different type of car and no, I don't expect all the same type of engineering. However, I wonder if with just a little thought it could be avoided.

POST 2Original post

As you might be aware, all Porsches do that... Annoyed...? All the time....!!! But I have accepted it as a part of life....Like light comes after dark, the CS will always drip water...!!! Now, if you want to change nature.....; well good luck buddy, and lemme know the secret if you succeed.......

POST 3Original post

Funny you mention it because it is the ONLY annoyance this car has given me, heres how i fix it,finish washing and drying, get in,find empty country road(curvy ones work best),drive hard, realize how excellent car is,forget drip

POST 4Original post

My wife's new MB E320 drips water all over the place. In fact I have never had a car that did not drip after a wash. It's just part of the fun of washing your car. ____________ Porsche Cayman Mercedes E320 Bluetec Ducati Paul Smart LE BMW R1200GS

POST 5Original post

You know, that's always bugged me too... All of my 7 Porsches over the years have displayed this problem... I have to open the lid, and then very quickly whip a towel across the front and sides of it... sometimes water even gets on the fenders that I've already dried! But, what I really hate is that when I drive the car (it's black) it gets dirty, and the treads of the tires get dirty, too.. it just drives me crazy! You'd think for the price I paid for this car ($75k) Porsche would find a way to solve some of this things! Between that, and no iPod connection, I'm ready to send this one to the crusher... If not, then It makes me want to post in the "complaints" forum. brad

Every car I've ever owned including MB, Lexus, Infiniti, Audi, Mazda, Isuzu, Ford, Dodge, Honda, Nissan has done that

POST 8Original post

after i wash, i drive my car to air dry--i dab the few water drops off and I am good to go except for the door sills--water quality at my new house is awsome--old house--many spots from hard water

POST 9Original post

I wash my car, dry it as best I can then go for a drive to complete the drying process. Once fully dry I head home. What really, really anoys me is that it always starts to rain before I get there.

POST 10Original post

OK, anyone else find that it's a PITA that you have to extend the wing to get the water that's hiding under it?

POST 11Original post

yes--just washed yesterday for the first time--

POST 12Original post

Funny, I haven't had any of the problems that everyone here speaks of......

POST 13Original post

Washing with water? Are you insane??? Do you know what is in water these days? Fluoride, Chloride, Sulfide, Pesticide, Germicide you name it its in there, not safe to drink, certainly not good for your car either. That's why I bought a DS9 sonic car washer. It uses billions of tiny sonic vibrations to literally shake the dirt off your car leaving only the paint behind. It's simple to use and has no bad side effect (like unsightly drips) well ok there is one side effect, it isn't good for dogs, but other than that there's no soap no buckets no water and no swirl marks either!

POST 14Original post

HAHAHAHAHAAHA!!! I was waiting for you to chime in, I almost PM'ed you to join the fun. I figured you'd find this amusing. Obviously after 5 months you still haven't washed your car. Your wheels must be black by now. Any idea when you're going to get around to it?
