Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Use search function or google it' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use search function or google it' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Has anyone successfully installed 997 seats WITH memory in a 996? My 996 has memory seats as well but I'm not really concerned about keeping it, or using it with the 997 seats. I've tried powering them from the 997
seat diagram, but no luck. Passenger side was a breeze, so that's good I guess.
Use the search function or Google it. It's all there for you by a guy /member named Chance (I think) and keep us posted.
I'll be doing the swap this year too.
Chance's write up (

) is for 2 way power. Mine has memory which is a whole different can of worms. I'm trying to avoid the work around here:

Hi JBSL, just resurrecting this thread. I’ve got the same seats and also had the same thought re switching over the module from the 996 seats. Did you manage to complete the swap and get the 997 seats to work with the memory functions?
Ah that’s a shame. Anything in particular that was proving to be problematic? I’m hoping to rope my dad into a project with these, his auto electrical skills coupled with my positivity and ability to supply tea and biscuits lol
Looking at the Pelican write up photos, it looks like the 997 seat mechanics (control and motors) are the same as the 996 seat but with different plugs that connect them to the 997 memory unit. So, if I were attempting to install 997 full power/memory seats into my 996 that also had full power/memory, my approach would be to use the 996 memory unit and adapt the 997 seat control and seat motors to the 996 memory unit. To do this, you'd need to cut off all of the connectors from the 996 seat and splice them into the 997 seat wiring. Before cutting anything, I would start by studying the wiring diagrams for both the 996 and 997 seats. If the control and motor wirings are the same, then it can be done.
Attached is the 996 full power with memory wiring diagram. The applicable wiring is all of the wiring below the memory unit - valve block/Lumbar, Motors Power Seats and Seat Buttons. You'll be installing the 996 connectors to adapt those wires to plug into the 996 memory unit. Perhaps, you can go to the 997 forum and ask someone for the 997 diagram and post it here and I'll take a look at it.
Would love to swap in a set of 997 comfort seats, with heat and memory, into my 996. My 996 TT has memory and heat, but they are kinda on the small side. If anyone blazes a path through this, please post a step-by-step with required part numbers !!
Ok so having dipped a toe into the 997 forum I’ve come across a very detailed breakdown of the steps required to make this work. Looks like this is going to keep me busy in the coming months.
