Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Guy's I have a 1999 C2 with 225 40 18's on the front (Contis) and on the rear I have 265 35 18's, I am about to change them for Contis to match the front but I have ordered 265 40 18's so as to match the front, is this correct?

POST 2Original post

no mate the rear tyres don't have the same profile. I think the ones you have fitted currently are the correct size

POST 3Original post

^^^^^^^^ What Ashley said. The overall diameter will be larger on the 40 section tryes. It will probably be OK, but will affect the speedo reading slightly, and the PSM unit might not like it (if you have it). Having said that, the winter tyres on my Cayman are slightly smaller diameter than the originals, and I haven't had any problems.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Guys I took the advice and I have got the garage to change to the 35's thanks as always for the help
