Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

hi guys, i plan on doing the rms in the next couple of weeks on my 4S cause its currently leaking. in this time, i would change the ims bearing, my question, would you pay to get the LN ims bearing kit from ln engi.... thanks or second option, ditch the 4s and buy a 996 gt3 lol

POST 2Original post

if the second option was not included.....get the bearing - its a no brainer the Gt3 I meant if you opt to do the RMS there is a list of things to do "while you're in there" many have comprised the list, a quick search should bring it up

thanks for the reply!! i will save 200$ on the bearing kit as i know someone who can sells me a new one, so it's a good thing to do i will also look at the clutch if its has to be done or not, as for the rest i will do a search cause i'm not aware of anything else ps: ya there is a local 996 gt3 for sale, and the car is calling me lol

POST 4Original post

other items include the AOS (air oil separator) easy to do.. ~$100 while in there or 4-6 hours labor as a stand alone I forget the whole list

POST 5Original post

Clutch kit is worth considering if your car has high mileage, plugs too, water pump, cam chain bearing plate (forgot the "proper" name for them). I'm sure others will chime in, I'm still too new at the 996 scene.
