Hello: Looking to get an upgrade on the original seat on my 1999 996. I am 6', 205, with non-European shoulders. I find the bolsters at shoulder height actually are behind my shoulder blades instead of around the outside of my shoulders, and consequently push me away from the seat creating a very uncomfortable position. The 997 seats don't look too much wider up there, so I think it will have to be an after market seat. Do want good lumbar support.
Not tracking or racing - would like to have reclining feature.

See if you can get a local to let you sit in a car w sport seats. Those are wider up top than the comfort seats and may fit you well. Personally I don't like them much (not enough lumbar for me), but it's worth a shot.
I love my GT3 seats and would buy them all over again for the price I paid back in the day. But I don't know if I would spend the kind of money being asked for them today. Plenty of other great choices which we didn't have 15 years ago.
I love my GT3 seats as well, but if I was buying seats today, I don't think I could spend the money required to pick up a set. I'd probably get a set of Recaro Pole Positions or Cobra Nogaro Seats.
