I use my NCB on the daily S4 Avant and all the others are on classic policies, meaning they are agreed value and limited mileage.....I have noticed the cost seems to I have risen over the last 3-4 years.....time to get on the blower I think.

My usual course of action is to run details through Confused.com (details are saved so it literally takes seconds each year once you've done it once) then use the best quote to get your existing insurer to match.

As suggested by someone above, I have been using Churchill and they are charging me sub £300 for 5000 miles and with business use, plus covered parked on drive or road.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi All,
My

is up on a couple of the Porsches and I just wondered who everyone is using?
The 996 Turbo S, does less than 1500 miles pa and the 996 C2 does 3000 miles pa.
Thanks in advance.

PS....has insurance gone up over the last couple of years?!?! :dont know:
Just insured with Aviva (through Footman James). 8000 miles limit and cover for up to 5 track days (including European tracks), all modifications declared and fully legal.
Expensive vs the £388 of last year at nearly £1000 but still a big saving on paying for
insurance
on the 2 track days I have remaining this year
I have found that classic insurance is based on the age of the car thus only 1 of my 3 cars is eligible.
20 years old is the cut off for real classic insurance although when i enquired most of the "classic insurers" were quoting very high premiums ir £350 upwards, so in my opinion that is not a classic car premium.
My 997 is insured as a multi car. I have always avoided that as i felt it was just an insurance company scam to get more business on which to raise the renewal premium but it meant i could share my NCB with 2 cars.
Hi OP Here,
I must being doing something wrong!
We have 6 cars in the house and I own and drive 4.
I use my NCB on the daily S4 Avant and all the others are on classic policies, meaning they are agreed value and limited mileage.....I have noticed the cost seems to I have risen over the last 3-4 years.....time to get on the blower I think.

Clearly extras like agreed value, like for like courtesy cars etc cost more, but its a starting point.
My 4S is £156, 5000 mile pa, me 47 yrs old... some benefit to being old

My 98 C2 Cabrio is only £200 fully comp with Churchill, so not even worth the bother.
My Cayenne 955 Turbo WLS (E81 Powerkit) is also insured for business use at under £341 with Darwin.
My VW Shuttle LWB T5.1 Transporter campervan conversion is around £300 fully comp with unlimited modifications.
My 3 motorcycles are on a Footman James policy for under £150.
At those sort of prices, I must be a lot lower risk than many. :thumb:
I've got my 2001 C4 insured with eSure. It costs me £246 p/a for up to 3k miles p/a and that includes Protected NCD, Legal Protection and Car Hire. That's with both me and my wife covered. We're both 48

My C4S is insured through AIB 3,000 miles per year for £280. so good we are insuring other vehicles through them as the come up for renewal..... but I'm very old
In sarf London, most of the classic car policies have started sulking with the BR2 post code in recent years. As suggested by someone above, I have been using Churchill and they are charging me sub £300 for 5000 miles and with business use, plus covered parked on drive or road. I have just checked and they have the market value at £21,895! Plus, I have no claims bonus with this policy.
