WorldPac usually caters to repair shops but there were a few guys in my class a couple years ago that did not work in the field.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Pelican Parts: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am about ready to begin the rebuild of my 2001 Carrera 4 engine. Does anyone know of a good thread, write-up or technical site that will be of assistance? I have searched for this information but have not found anything yet. I have a Bentley manual that I will use for torque specs. I am looking for the "be sure to check..." and "while you're in there..." type of ideas. Thanks in advance.

Porsche never published anything on rebuilding these engines as they never expected dealer techs to be involved in it. Jake Raby runs a class on this subject, and is also in the process of publishing a book on the subject, so you might want to start there. Good luck.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Still looking for guide. I have found these videos, on youtube - https://www.youtube.com/user/glenn986s/videos Anyone know of anything else available?

POST 4Original post

You may want to check out the rennlist 996 forum, a lot more traffic over there related to newer Porsche cars. As mentioned here, check out Flat 6 or Jake Raby, he has classes covering rebuilding the M96.

POST 5Original post

If you are interested in spending some time... look up WorldPac and the training they offer. Tony Callas and Jake Raby teach a class through them that is worth the expense and time. You could also try contacting them directly at Callas Rennsport or Flat Six Innovations. WorldPac usually caters to repair shops but there were a few guys in my class a couple years ago that did not work in the field. Hope this helps.
