I won't need them until maybe the end of the year, but 25% will add $210 just to replace the rears so I am not waiting.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

30 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Bought a new set of P zeros to avoid the tariffs. I won't need them until maybe the end of the year, but 25% will add $210 just to replace the rears so I am not waiting. It's a car part and it's made in Germany. They are N4s and I have been very happy with them. If you are interested in saving even more money, there is a 5% discount for new buyers at Tires Easy Pirelli P Zero Rosso 285/30R18 93Y BSW Tires made it cheaper than Tire Rack.

POST 2Original post

I'm surprised you like those tires!!!! Man I couldn't switch out of them fast enough!

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 19968210

Maybe I'm not going as fast as you on the track, but I do get track time. What do you prefer?

POST 4Original post

I'm not a track guy but I just didn't like the way these tires felt on the road. Just didn't feel confidence inspiring. Granted this was on a 993 not a 996 but yeah I have never really liked pirelli's! I am usually a michelin fan but have recently ordered a set of continental extreme contact sport 02's. Its winter here still in Calgary so haven't had a chance to drive the car with the new tires however have heard good things. Will see I guess!

POST 5Original post

Tariffs are not on the retail price of the tire, they are calculated on the import price, basically the wholesale cost. And then the manufacturer likely bears some of the expense. On high end Pirelli's, Michelins, etc I'd guess the markup could be close to 50%. Still, you're likely saving around 15%

POST 6Original post

Tire Rack. Bridgestone Potenza RE-71RS. Just because...Sticky. I know they won't last long but...sticky!

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 19969205

I will track this and report back. The rear were $419 each. And yes, you are right, I likely overestimated the savings, but the point is that parts prices are already up in the last two years and parts for these cars is already $$$. I am thankkfull that I replaced almost everything in the last three years.

POST 8Original post

I was thinking the same thing. What to start buying now that I'll need in a few years. Instead of lowering the price of eggs, raise the price of everything else so eggs seem cheap!

POST 9Original post

Quotes source post: 19971803

Egg prices HAVE lowered though. Lower than they were at the end of the previous administration - who caused it, btw. That said, the tariffs are not meant to be in effect years from now. It's a negotiation tactic. That's all it's ever been.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 19976711

Egg prices from 2020 to present according to the St. Louis Federal Reserve. They are on track to rise even further as mire chickens die. No president can lower prices. Nixon tried to keep them from rising further but that didn't work out so well.

POST 11Original post

Quotes source post: 19976742

No industry on earth is immune from supply/demand. When you kill millions of chickens, supply decreases. Price naturally increases. Econ 101. I didnt say Biden, himself caused it. What I said was prices are less now than they were in Jan 2025, in response to the previous insinuation that Trump hadnt lowered prices of eggs yet.

POST 12Original post

Right!!! I have some swampland to sell you. He doesn't even know how tariffs work. I thought he negotiated the current NAFTA.

POST 13Original post

Buy oil filters! You know you’re going to use them and it’s surprising what quantity discounts do. Also prices only go up on filters. I purchased 12 years worth (every 6 mo) of spin on USA made Napa Gold filters for my car. I also have 5 years worth for my other cars. I purchased any wear items and also typical failure parts before the pandemic hit. Its nice to have stock of parts for when I need them.

POST 14Original post

Im going to put Michelin tires on my BMW, but feel I can wait because the tire Im choosing is made in the USA. How do the tariffs work for parts? Made in the USA, even if its a foreign company, no tariff?

POST 15Original post

Quotes source post: 19978941

Correct, tariffs only on imported items, no matter where the company is from.

POST 16Original post

Quotes source post: 19978941

Correct, which is also part of the point: to drive more manufacturing here. Porsche, one of many others, has already announced plans to manufacture more in the US than they already do.

POST 17Original post

Quotes source post: 19978941

Depends on if the company relies on any imported raw materials, services, or other operational needs to produce the product. Most likely everything will see some amount of increase in cost, but it's hard (if not impossible) to determine the magnitude of the impact. Also, I would expect the tariff game will change like Florida weather. I'm not about to buy 12 years supply of anything at this point with the volatility we've seen over the last three months.

POST 19Original post

Quotes source post: 19968206

Ouch! Based on your $210 number I'm guessing that you paid about $100 more than I did for a pair of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 285/35ZR18 tires in September 2024. I just checked and the price of those hasn't changed -- yet? Although I believe Michelin makes some tires in the US...

POST 20Original post

Michelin does manufacture in the US. I believe Pirelli does as well. Just not certain which tires are produced onshore versus offshore.

POST 22Original post

lmfao. A. Acting as if this is all going as planned and B. The toothpaste will not be shoved back into the tube. Just clueless.

POST 23 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The Pirelli P-Zeros are made in Germany. Says so right on the tire. Cheers.

POST 24Original post

Quotes source post: 19980699

Good to know. I have to check into my Pirelli Scorpions run flats on my Q7. Great tires, but they are expensive without any tariffs.

POST 25Original post

Quotes source post: 19980675

Guess well see, huh?

POST 26Original post

Unrelated, but the newest base 911 has a starting price of $127,700. This puts the highest inflation-adjusted 911 at today (1991 was the original king). The 911 S starts at $150k and the 911 GTS, according to Doug Demuro is $200k (Porsche USA website says otherwise - $170k). This is all before tariffs. I guess most if not all 911 parts are not made in the USA.

POST 27Original post

Guys, the tariffs are inconsequential, basically meaningless, just Peanuts compared to the hundreds of thousands of dollars that was lost/stolen from my life savings and investments in the last 2 days as a result of the tariffs. Enough to buy entire brand new cars including whatever tariff is added. And far more bloodshed to come. I hate to point out the obvious. That's what's going to make it difficult to buy parts.

POST 28Original post

Quotes source post: 19982712

Agreed. After a life of work and savings..Having your retirement delayed or cancelled is the most impactful part.

POST 29Original post

I just shipped the ducati from the uk i'm a private individual and their taxing me on this terror it's ridiculous 1,300 dollars. Does tariff supposed to be for companies. Tax in a private individual like this is ridiculous!

POST 30Original post

Quotes source post: 19985227

The tariffs are placed on objects, like cars and bottles of wine. Doesn't matter who buys them.
