Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone have issues with the reliability of power supply from a hardwired fuse tap? The car is a 991.2 C2S, 16 plate, great car, definitely a keeper. Have hardwired front-facing and a rear-facing dashcams (Garmin Dash Cam Mini 2). Same issue with both. When you fire up the ignition both cams spring into life. You drive and both will be fine for a while. At some point, maybe 20 mins later, maybe an hour later, you notice that one or both of the dash cams has lost power. Front-facing uses RHS D9. Rear-facing uses LHS D8. According to this the RHS D9 is passenger footwell electric socket (20 amps) and the LHS D8 is the right headlight (15 amps). This is ongoing for a while now. Have moved the fuse taps around to see if it helped. Same behaviour. Don't think it's a faulty dashcam as they both behave in the same way. Have wondered whether the fuse taps become a little loose in normal driving (bumpy roads). Next course of action is to wire one in to the 12v lighter socket on a long drive and see what happens. Any ideas?

POST 2Original post

Have you checked if is not the camera by giving it a temporary power supply ?
