Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Sorry guys - I gave you an incomplete picture there; all the bulbs are working except from nearside indicator; this is the one that was not working at the start of this matter - and the one i've replaced with a new bulb.
Leading evidence: 'Replace with a new bulb' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check area' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Morning all,
In the past few days my indicators have been doing the rapid flashing thing whenever I indicate left. Thinking it was just a blown bulb I bought a new one, took the headlight assembly out of the car and removed the turn indicator bulb only to find it was still intact – so I swapped it out anyway. Reinstalled the headlight unit and tried the indicator switch – still same problem.
Any ideas on what might be causing this and best solutions to fix.
Thanks

I had a similar problem a few years ago on mine and found that the front indicator bulb holder was not screwed in fully and had been arcing slightly and burnt away at the contact plate, I managed to build it back up with solder and it's been working fine ever since so if it's not because one of the other bulbs has gone or corroded contacts check that they are fully fitted to the light unit
Check the area that the socket is mounted in. If its the same as a gen 1 there's a clip that fixes the socket in place. The socket can sometimes not be held in with the clip properly and not seated correctly preventing the plug from plugging into it. I have a problem with my driver's side and it its not plugged in fully my side light doesn't work on that side.
Edit: Think your's looks like this. Different than mine but same concept.
Just have a look first and check that it looks right or wrong. If you push on it lightly and it pushes backwards then something's probably wrong. May not be that.
I agree with Alex, it'll be a bad connection with the connector.
Try having the indicator running and push the headlight in, this may make a better connection, if that doesn't work obviously remove the headlight and WD-40 the connector to see if that seats better. Failing that fit the headlight and remove the front part of the wheel arch liner and push the connector in from there.
On the gen 1 you can poke a rod through where the side flasher is and apply pressure to the socket whilst pushing the light unit in to ensure it plugs in correctly.
