Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The EGR valve is also in need of replacing - I heard of someone who was quoted £2000 for this earlier on in the year.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The car is in for its 48k service today.
The CEL light came on on Sunday. Transpires it is a hydraulic tappet on number 5 cylinder which will require all tappets on that bank to be replaced which is an engine out job. The EGR valve is also in need of replacing - I heard of someone who was quoted £2000 for this earlier on in the year. The two front side rads are getting tired and will also need to be replaced. The heat shields are corruding and also need replacing. OPC say with luck I should get the car back on Friday. How much of this do you think the new warranty will cover?
Oh in the meantime I have an RS Spyder Boxster to mess around with.
With the new wty I would expect all of it to be covered...
Under the old wty Chiswick wouldnt do my radiators (said they werent bad enough) and also wouldnt do my heat shields (either around the coil packs or the mufflers)
Good luck - glad you've got the wty given this tappet thing
Dave this is v interesting.... looking back over my own car's records since birth I note that it also had its engine tappets, bank 4 to 6 replaced.... cost was just under £2400, but thats a couple yrs ago.
Can't advise if the job was done under wtee but I have to imagine that it was.
I believe that quite a few people have had their rads done under wtee, but it probably depends on the cause (i.e. wet leaves/stone chips etc). My car had 3 new rads in the past year, and i religously vacuum them out and at its next service will have the opc take the front bumper off to do this also.
Keep us informed on what the wtee covers and doesnt cover !!
With all respect to the OPC they told me that everything bar the heat shield was covered under the new warranty without any hesitation. Interestingly the EGR valve would not have been covered under the old warranty.
I think that was a very good £1300 spent a month ago
