Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

Suggestion

The new ALMS 458's were spotted in testing being 5-10 seconds faster per lap than the outgoing 430's at the test track and that was without tweaking and tuning for that track, etc.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 2Original post

I realize that the photo is just a render, but that car still looks AWESOME.

POST 3Original post

Gotta love those Google translators - aluminum underwear?! This will be different!:hilarious: Not sure how this fits the lineup when the 918 is there........guess we'll see!

POST 4Original post

Auto Express says it's the new 918 Coupe so we'll see soon! It looks fantastique'!!! Porsche 918 Coupe in Detroit | Auto Express News | News | Auto Express

POST 5Original post

You know Porsche had to do this to try to answer the 458 right? The new ALMS 458's were spotted in testing being 5-10 seconds faster per lap than the outgoing 430's at the test track and that was without tweaking and tuning for that track, etc. There's no way the 911 GT3 could hope to keep up with the new 458 unless the 458 gets crippled by weight or rule penalties. This new car would give Porsche something else to field... It's just the car the Cayman should have been anyway...

POST 7Original post

It makes sense that the 918 as a race car would be Porsche's answer to the 458.

POST 8Original post

"... and in the underwear aluminum parts were in the compound, many in the game." I think I need to find a porn-to-English translator! :hilarious:

POST 9Original post

Agree! Maybe if they had focused more on a Cayman model number designation, giving it a nunber like 916 913 etc etc it would have been easier to make a transition to a higher perfoming car. Instead we got the "R".

POST 10Original post

I am wondering now if this is a badge-engineered R8.

POST 11Original post

Actually this would make the most sense in terms of development time. I don't see how the 918 spyder, which just got the green light for production a month or two ago, could be turned into a race ready vehicle. I guess we'll find out tomorrow.

POST 12Original post

Here is the original concept sketch, on which the Autozeitung render seems to be based. Clearly the 918 was always conceptualized as both a spyder and coupe...
