Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My bonnet wont open on the front of the car.It clicks as usual with the switch but does not release .Any idea how I can get in to sort the problem out? My wifes Christmas present is in there so time is running out!!!!!!!!! 2002 996 carrera 4

POST 2Original post

Do you have porsche assistance? Give them a shout and they'll send RAC out....

POST 3Original post

Don't tell your wife....that's what this guy did http://www.911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=40348&highlight= TB

POST 4Original post

If it's clicking, then it sounds like something has jammed. The only other way in is to pull the emergency release cable, but it's a pain in the ar*e to get to. It (should be) located at the back of the headlamp unit on the driver's side, and you have to pull off the front of the wheel arch to get to it.

POST 5Original post

pretty sure my emergency bonnet release is inside the drivers door shut- at the top- a ring-pull device with cable attached. - it's not just frozen is it? try some hot water all over it!

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

still not open thanks anyway The whhel arch is coming off on my day off I will let you know how I get on!

POST 8Original post

I do hope your wife's present isn't a kitten or a puppy!

POST 10Original post

I bet he hasn't really got her a present at all - just stalling for time...

POST 11Original post

you can unscrew the carrera thing on the door, which has the boot and boot latches on there, i can open it that way by pulling the latch, stops it locking Edward
