I looked at a 148 reset but the numbers only go from 1 to 6 on my unit.

I don't know if this makes a difference but its running the Vauxhall/Opel disc, but has been OK for 2 years.

Hi I've got a problem with my PCM1. Its the 16 bit version in an '02 car. Its stuck on "initialising system". I can't eject the CD to try and clean it. The two green lights on the left hand side of the unit just flash all the time. With the engine not running I can hear the unit attempting to eject the CD when pressing the button, but thats all you get, a bit of a whirring noise. I don't know if this makes a difference but its running the Vauxhall/Opel disc, but has been OK for 2 years. Any ideas please?

sounds a bit like the cd unit has jammed and like you say will not eject.. it may be that the cd unit may have to be removed to get the disc out , and then retry loading again.. can't remember if reset works on pcm1 but try pressing 148 together to reset system..

Hi I looked at a 148 reset but the numbers only go from 1 to 6 on my unit. While messing about it burst into life and I got the CD out, then it went again, then OK. It seems the fault is intermittent and I've now got the unit out to look for a repairer. I'll post later if I find anyone as it seems an OPC exchange unit is £1,210 plus VAT or a new one is £1,588.12 plus VAT

Thanks Richard Just packed it up to send to Maple Audio 4/5 Hayes Place Bear Flat Bath BA2 4QW Tel 01225 442180 They carry spare parts for the unit and can repair it if its hardware, but not if its software. If it can't be repaired or is too expensive then it will only cost me the return p&p. I'll post later with the outcome.
