Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

14 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Only for a few seconds then back to normal, pressure reading slightly higher than usual though.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Only for a few seconds then back to normal, pressure reading slightly higher than usual though. Seems to be a known fault so I'm hoping it's just the sensor and a simple replacement... No oil loss and dipstick looks good. Will check again in an hour for even the smallest of drips... :?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That's what I'm thinking, and hoping... Need to drive home soon so if it happens again I'll be staight on the phone to Porsche Assist.

POST 6Original post

Yep ..................Just had mine done... exactly the same symptoms Cheers Paul

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It's booked in with the lovely Ariska at OPC west London to get it sorted. If there was a voting catagory for cutest employee at an OPC she'd win by a mile

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I severely doubt she's on here... :?:

POST 10Original post

The point is you never know. We didn't think Jamie (Spiderman) was until he posted that's my point. Pete

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ah, the first 911uk internet date, I wish, haha, she's hot!

POST 12Original post

It seems that a lot of 996s had faulty oil sensors. Are the new oil sensors more reliable or is it still the case that when an oil sensor has been changed it will still go wrong in a few years time and it will also need to be replaced ?

POST 13Original post

I have had a very similar problem with my water tem guage - runs at the normal level (halfway through 80) and then accoasonally drops to the bottom with a failire notice sign flashing. Lasts for anything from 5 seconds to a minute then pops back up. Again, hopefully it is just the sensor. If so, any idea of the cost of replacement? Thanks

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I had the oil pressure sensor replaced last wednesday, in and out of OPC in 60min, no cost as a warranty item/issue... If you've no warranty I'm sure it's not expensive if taken to a good Indy, try calling your local and asking, and then ask for a Christmas discount
