Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

thanks for the advice i will check with reference to the arches and selling due to having to drive the car through the winter and there polished and they will get wrecked plus new rear tyres needed.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am looking to put some bigger wheels on my 996 1999 carrea 4 and the wheels i might be getting are on a 1999 996 carrea 2 will they fit my car the offset is et 45 and et 40 please can someone help thankyou.

POST 2Original post

You don't say what width, which is important too. You might find this useful for working it out: http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

POST 3Original post

If they are standard wheels on the C4, then they will fit your C2. The C4 and C2 are both narrow bodied cars and have the same offset. C4S generally don't fit (eg. Turbo II), but sometimes do (eg. Techno/GT3 look etc)! C4S came out in about 2001.

POST 4Original post

Sorry, just noticed the offsets, which are very odd and don't seem standard. As Richard say, what is the width. More importantly, can you get the BBS part number from inside the alloy? http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=34835&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=offset&start=10

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

they are aftermarket wheels and think the rears are 10.5" wide and they 20" wheels but being now i have learned the offset is the same on the c2 they must fit.

POST 6Original post

20" hmm. I would proceed with extreme caution. Firstly, the 996 factory specification is no bigger than 18". This was for a reason, not cosmetics. Secondly, and more importantly, I understand that you have the arches rolled to get 20" wheels to fit correctly. Would be worth checking with the current owner to see if this was the case. Why are they selling?

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thanks for the advice i will check with reference to the arches and selling due to having to drive the car through the winter and there polished and they will get wrecked plus new rear tyres needed.

POST 8Original post

That is the wrong rear offset for a narrow body car (rears should be on or about et65), so unless you have a 4S then they won't fit. Might work with spacers?
