Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
From a realistic use POV the Turbo and Carrera S (almost half the price of the TT) are equally competent for street use unless stop light drag races is your thing.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So, I'm close to buying a new weekend toy. I am surprised over how difficult a decision it's become! I've driven all of the above (Turbo S, GT3, GT3 RS) which were all 2011 variants.
Like the versatility of the Turbo S and it's crazy fast but soft. Like the hard core RS, but dislike big time those seats! The GT3 was okay, but frankly feels pretty anemic compared to the other two, the sports adaptive seats are much friendlier than the RS' std seats. Maximum fun is the MO here. No mundane worries, just rip it up on nice sunny days and the weekends.
Any strong opinions out there between those three?
Tough choices you've got there! :hilarious:
If you plan on spending time on the track, the GT3 and even more so the RS, are hard to beat. But they are loud and rough on the street so be prepared for that.
The Turbo S is the ultimate GT car. Fast as hell yet still comfortable for general cruising around all day.
No track -> TT S
Mostly street with some track -> GT3 + adaptive sport seats
More track and less street -> GT3RS
If you don't mind the wing and stiffer ride on the street put adaptive sport seats in the RS
I pray to have the ordeal of choosing between these three one day... man you are lucky!
Good luck with whatever you decide... you are already a winner.
If you've always lusted for the RS you can just swap out the seats for a set of GT3 seats and keep the originals to re-install when/if you sell the car. After all in this price range a few grand for extra seats shouldn't be a barrier. Driving the RS on the street is a hoot, the car can be heard all over town! After all, you know the RS is what you
really
want!
Since you didn't mention track use = Turbo S.
The value of the Turbo 'S' might be higher retained value vs. a Turbo, if the past Turbo S models are an indicator.
You can edit your original post and add a poll to get accurate stats. But the conclusion of what everybody is saying:
1) daily drive and fun on track => tt S
2) street car and track winner => GT3
3) hardcore track beast => RS
Whatever you go for please share with us your experience and pictures.
PS if you end up buying a Cayman, I'll have you banned from all forums for letting me down

If it were as straightforward and logical as "intended use" there wouldn't be much to think, or talk, about. Unless you live at the track why seriously consider the RS? The real question is "do I want this almost Cup car so badly that I'm willing to put up with its obvious street limitations even though I'll only track the car maybe 3-4 times a year?". The Turbo compared to the GT3/RS cars has nothing in common from a personality standpoint so in a real sense it's mixing apples and oranges. From a realistic use POV the Turbo and Carrera S (almost half the price of the TT) are equally competent for street use unless stop light drag races is your thing. The GT3 is the "practical" RS if there is such a definition of practicality, but it isn't as raw or pure as the RS, so where and how do you want to compromise? That's the question.
Unless you intend to drive like a total irresponsible idiot on the street all the time the only reason to buy any of these cars is to show off your disposable income. Any 997 has way more capability that you need on the street
Even on the track unless you are experienced and talented you aren't going to use all of the capabilities of any of these cars.
Buy what makes you heart beat faster . Why should you care what we think! LOL
With all respect my friend, that is too harsh and I totally disagree with you.
Many here including myself would buy 911 tt or GT3 for the street if we could afford it. IMO the base 911 fail to deliver anything but a name and image. I think he was asking about our experiences and impressions. Why would an anonymous show off among strangers many of which own (or owned) 911 tt, Ferraris and Lamborghinis?
Hassaan, I think you should buy any car you please to drive on the street. If I could afford a 458 I'd buy it in a minute!!! lol In red too!!! but not because of what others think, because it make my heart race like no other car.
I'd also drive it like a Hundai on the street and like the race car it is on the track.
I do have a very harsh opinion about driving stupid fast on the street. Maybe it's because I'm an old fart that's seen too many horrible accidents. It's absolutely unacceptabe in any car. Too many lives are ruined by it needlessly. If you can afford a porsche you can afford to take it to the track often.
I could afford a TT or GT3 if I wanted one but the Cayman is my favorite Porsche and I don't really care if others think it is the bush league or entry level car.
If you are a car nut, drive the one that makes you happy what ever it is.
That said, you just renewed the vows for an eternal friendship :hilarious:
I wish everybody would hate it so its price would drop dramatically and I can own it at a fraction of the price. BTW the F430 here is being offered at ridiculous low prices. Yesterday I saw here in Jeddah a 2009 F430 with 10,000 miles on it. The asking price was 114,000 USD. The price did strike me. But I already promised myself to Miss Italia... plus the F430 was in white
In your climate white may be a good color but it is my least favorite. I hate refigerator white on any car.
I followed an F430 around thunderbolt race course in NJ last year for four laps before he let me by. I guess he just couldn't believe a Cayman could keep up with him. I did enjoy the the sound of that engine from 20' behind him! LOL
And sorry no video of this one so I guess it never happened!
Most here mod their CS's with Remus etc, so noise is actually more like music.
I made the switch from a CS to an 08 997.1 GT3, not rough at all. And Sport button always on for the "music"
^ Then it's time to update your avatar my friend
Since we are here talking about the GT3 Rs, I thought I'd share my experience in this thread (check post # 8):

You didn't say the word "track" and you think the GT3 is anemic, so you need to buy the Turbo. No question about it.
If you decide to do a track day, your Turbo will still be fine.
^ Congratulations my friend but that is not the stock rear spoiler, right?
Oh and did you do any modifications to the engine? ECU? How does it feel, sound and perform in comparison to the Cayman?
Spoiler is the stock gen 1 997. Same as the aerokit option on carrera's
Power is sublime on it, but most noticeable is on the track, don't have to be in a hurry to pass anyone, just wait till the end of the straight keep up their exhaust and on corner exit effortlessly slide past, great fun!
Every time I drive it, there is a sense of occasion. My only problem now is what next.......
My wife likes the Lambo Cabrio, but not sure a Lambo or F-car is up to been thrashed around the track like a Porsche can.....
but next is changing her car anyhow......
Dear OP, I take back what I wrote... go for the GT3 RS and you won't regret it! Here is my experience today:
http://www.planet-9.com/club-911-general-discussion/53822-gt3-rs-test-drive.html#post519649
I don't have experience with any of the three choices, but if I could only pick one, I would go with the GT3 RS.
I just love the idea of a track car on the street. That doesn't mean you have to drive it like a race car, though.
The raw, rough feel just makes the experience between the road and you even more real.
I wish my Cayman was more firm, so it would have even more of a "race car" feel to it. It feels nice as it is, but I think it could be better. Other priorities are keepin' me from puttin' more money into it, though.
