Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

This has probably always happened but the other day, I started my TT up after being left for a few days and suddenly realised Id forgotten something in the house. So as I switched off, I noticed a high pitched spinning sound still continued after the engine was off. I tried this again after the engine was upto temperature and it just switched off as normal, no weird noises. Is this normal? If so could someone explain?

POST 2Original post

I noticed mine does that sometimes can't say as it sounded like a "bad" noise not sure what it is but it did not worry me. sorry this is not much help other than to let you know someone else with a TT has the same noise Nevyn

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

LOL - Well I'll assume everything is ok then until someone comes along and tells me otherwise. At least you knew what I was on about - Thanks

POST 4Original post

Hello Could be the secondary air injection pump spinning down....this blows air into the exhaust area to heat the catalytic convertors quickly...does not work when warm probably runs for 45 secs- 1min. Mike

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'd no idea I had one of those thingys but it certainly sounds like a good explaination - Thanks. Something else to cross off my list of things to worry about!

POST 6Original post

Mike I presume this is where the EGR valve sits (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) Mine was getting a little noisy and I was advised it was an engine out job to rectify although if you could live with it it was not too much of a problem.
