Anyone have a recommendation for a shop in the SF Bay Area (preferably from San Jose to Mountain View) to replace the sagging headliner in my 2008
Cayman
?
Thx
Eric
I had a droopy headliner on mine 2011 and used Sidco Custom Upholstery in Mountain View in 2023. Removed the headliner myself to save on labor costs but they have the ability to do it themselves too.

Went with black alcantara. If you need additional details let me know
I've gotten three estimates from recommended shops. To remove, clean, replace the headliner material with cloth and reinstall
1. Sid's custom upholstery

I took mine to Sidco. They got the OEM fabric and did nice work.
Like Newold I pulled and cleaned the headliner myself and just dropped that part off.
When the headliner on my 987 started to fail, I found an upholster that worked with high end cars and I choose to install
Alcantara
which was about $100 extra over their standard headliner.
The car stayed there overnight and 'literally stinked' for a few days (glue they used..) but the installed headliner was way better (IMHO) than the original headliner
Eventually, when the headliner
981
fails I would choose again the
Alcantara
option, it just looks (and feels) much nicer
If it’s worth it to you, I had a local shop do it out here in Brentwood about 3 or 4 years ago for $400.
Since my car is yellow, I bought
Dritz 3005 Quilting Pins, 1-3/4-Inch, Yellow
You can't stick them straight in, because they'll quickly hit the metal roof. Instead, insert at a nearly parallel angle. 5 minute fix!
Just did mine on 08
Cayman
, very satisfied with Alejandro Nunez, He does mobile service in the Bay Area cost was 300$. Check his Yelp reviews. His number is [phone removed]
For any DIYers out there, I did my 2008 headliner using the following, not a hard job and looks great.
Suede Headline material $34
Amazon.com
Spray Glue (no smell) $18

New Trim clips (if needed) $10
Amazon.com
is this him?

$450-600 in LA depending on your choice of material. This shop has done 2 of my cars, and someone else went there on my recommendation and they were very happy as well. I'm at about year 8 on the repair and it is holding up great.
@BoostTed
I don’t see a shop listed in your thread. Would be good to have it for future reference.
Nachos in North Hollywood. He's been around since I was in elementary school, still around doing it.
SIdco did a great job on mine. I went with a black/charcoal pepita or houndstooth and it came out great.
