Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

And when it comes time to sell, a car that has been modified outside the Porsche network is more than likely going to be more difficult to sell - I suspect most would recommend that you stick with the factory X50 upgrade or the 'S'

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 2Original post

Paragon have 996 Turbo S for £ 47,995 http://www.paragon.gb.com/sales/vehicle-details.asp?ID=736082 I would expect the turbo engine to be fairly bullet proof and if the modification has been carried out properly I doubt there would be any suprises. However that does depend on the car cause I seem to recall reading that some very heavily modified cars need an engine rebuild every 12,000 miles. And when it comes time to sell, a car that has been modified outside the Porsche network is more than likely going to be more difficult to sell - I suspect most would recommend that you stick with the factory X50 upgrade or the 'S'

POST 4Original post

Mine was a standard 996tt. I decided I wanted some more grunt and started talking to a few people. The Head Technician at a local OPC told me that the GT1 derived Turbo engine was very robust and without internal modifications could easily handle 550bhp. I then spoke to a number of Indie's to see what was on offer. In the end I opted for the Revo route which was done by Paragon who seem very well respected. In terms of reliability I have no concerns at all - the engine can easily handle the power. The REVO chip is also undetectable by the OPC diagnostic testing equipment.
