Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys, am I correct in thinking that the ariel is connected to the windscreen? I have a '99 c4...and now in london I can pick up some stations but in Reading could only pick up radio 2...and nothing else. I have just had my screen replaced and lots of other bits and pieces done, and before I cal9if that makes sence). l the windscreen co. wanted to make sure its something they did or didn't do. cheers,

POST 2Original post

The aerial runs up the centre of your windscreen - you should be able to see it quite clearly. So, yes, it is quite likely that a screen replacement has resulted in a poor signal.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thanks Wattie, there is a line in the centre of the windscreen but I guess it hasn't been connected properly? For checking the connection, will the screen need to come out?

POST 4Original post

The aerial connects to the screen at the bottom of the driver's side A pillar. The red arrow points to the amplifier. Worth checking that it is connected properly.

POST 5Original post

so its not just me then!!!! I struggle to get a good radio signal on my car too (not sure if the windscreen has been replaced before or not). I can't get Capital outside of the M25 and driving round the NW section of the north circular towards hanger lane I get interuptions to the signal which sounds like its from pirate radio stations or something saturating the frequency  Its annoying me as I do this commute everyday so I tend to listen to my ipod more instead. It happened with my old OE radio and also with my new Alpine Is this a general problem with the 996?

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thanks Richard...I think I'll call the windscreen co. to come and check it.
