Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I own a 996 C4S (52 reg) and would really appreciate if you would provide me with step by step instructions on replacing both the front and repair pads, as I'm looking to tackle it myself
Leading evidence: 'Replace discs and pads' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). I've used lots of the guides you can find on Rennlist/Renntech to provide you a good indicator on what to do, what to expect.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just replaced all discs and pads on my C4S.
Got the parts from Porscheshop for 760. Took about three hours this morning to fit them all.
The old ones had corroded badly on the inside. The braking is now transformed and now up to the performance of the car.
I am well pleased.

Rikyy did you follow any particular instructions readily available and what tools did you need?
This is something i will need to do soon, and quite fancy doing myself rather than getting someone else, as much for my satisfaction as saving the cash.
thanks

It's a very easy job, requiring very few tools. I can change the pads in less than 15 mins per corner, the hardest part is jacking up the car and removing the wheel.
I've used lots of the guides you can find on Rennlist/Renntech to provide you a good indicator on what to do, what to expect.
I'd recommend getting the replacement caliper bolts rather reusing the existing ones, invest in a torque wrench and buy some brake cleaner!

The only tools you will need are a 10mm allen key for the caliper bolts, pliers, large screwdriver or similar for pushing the pistons back into the calipers.
I re-used the original anti squeel shims without any problem, the brake sensor cable just plugs into the new pad. Removing one of the locating screws in one of the front discs was a bit difficult, but just apply some heat with a blow torch and itcame out easily.
The pin that holds the pads in required knocking out with a hammer but was no real problem. All in all pretty straight forward.
The handbrake caused no problem at all.
If you need want i can give you step by step instructions.

I may be changing my disc's at the same time and if you have instructions on these too that would be great too
Thanks
