I think the hardtops became standard on the '04 model year 996 and only for the end of the 996 run, they're now an option again.....

Hi, all have just bought a C4s cab 2004 with most options but no CD player in the front. I dont seem to be able to find much information on the forums about it. I think I probably have the MOST bus system and I do have Bose sound. I took the covers off the front and I found no evidence of a wire nor a bracket for the CD player. Does anyone know if Sony/kenwood or any other manufacturer make a CD player that can talk to my PCM 2 ?? Also does anyone know how to do it and also how to remove my PCM 2. I have got the switchable sports exhaust (one of my reasons for buying the car) and cant wait to get the roof off in summer. Just a side note, do all cabs come with a hardtop as standard? and it would seem that the 997 does not? ALso why does the 997 c4s look so bland in comparison to the 996 c4s.. arguably the prettiest car that porsche has ever made?? correct me if you think im wrong...

:welcome: I think the hardtops became standard on the '04 model year 996 and only for the end of the 996 run, they're now an option again..... If you have PCM 2 (like me) then you have a CD player as the navigation discs are CD driven so the CD's go in the same slot :?

if you have the PCM2 then I guess you should be able to add a CD changer to the system, although you might not have the wiring in place. Does it have to be a CD changer? I just fitted a mObridge to my car to use my iPod from the PCM2 (replacing the CD changer) and it's a great little system. Might be an easier option?
