What size tire are you running, I'm getting ready to put that kit on and I just noticed how much the spring is cranked up.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Installed needle bearings and washers atop my front Bilstein PSS9 coilovers today. Did it in my garage without popping ball joints or removing arms. Definitely DIY and best $30 spent in a long time. Thanks to other forum members who offered tips. Here are some notes and pictures from my day. 1. Ordered QA1 7888109 Thrust Washer Mount Kit from Jeff Bezos' website. 2. Used the O2 sensor socket to remove top nut while securing the shaft with an allen wrench. 3. Jacked up corner and removed the wheel. 4. Loosened spring perch completely to relax springs. 5. Removed top sway bar drop link nut and slid it out and away. Second jack helped find the right lift point to relieve tension. 6. Removed three strut mount securing nuts and used a rubber mallet to tap it loose. 7. Applied downward force to release piston shaft and strut mount from chassis and then removed hardware above the main spring. 8. Lubed bearing, sandwiched it between washers, placed it atop the spring, and then reassembled the washers, seat, bearing, and strut mount. 9. Jacked shock back up into place, and tightened everything back up. 10. Connected and torqued sway bar drop link back into position. I marked everything I loosened or removed with a white marking pen for later reference. This took patience and more manipulating of angles and such than I have time to write....hopefully this gives you an idea of the level of effort. Sent from my VS995 using Tapatalk
