Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

However, this week I've changed my order to Black/Grey leather !
Leading evidence: 'Replace order' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace order' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Not heard of that many people going for A1 - Black all seem to be going for metallic instead. What's the groups opinions of solid Black? When a car is clean and solid black you have to say it does look stunning.
I am truly a 'black' fan.....my last three Porsches have been that color. This time I just wanted a change.....looked at a bunch of colors both light and dark and decided on Atlas Grey.......a color that most photos cannot capture, but this one does a good job of.......a brilliant color.......

Metallic paints are generally considered harder wearing and less prone to fade by UV light from the sun due to the amount of layers of paint and laquer and not forgetting the reflective flakes of metal. FWIW for a car costing this much I'd be speccing Basalt Black.

I like solid black in a car, preferable to basalt which has too much brown in it for my taste. I think the interior color for a black car should offer some 'relief' from the potential somberness of black, particularly in a sports car. There was a posting on another board suggesting that a new Porsche interior color may be introduced, a light cream rather than beige. Porsche had an interior like this in the 80s and Mercedes currentlyoffers an interior called stone which is a cream color. I think if you are going to get a black sports car it should have some contrast in the interior, red, beige, cream, even gray. I think the all black which seems so popular is a 'safe' choice if resale or 'sexual identity'are major concerns (which seems to be the case for alot more people than I would have expected based on what I've read on the internet). A light color interiorwith a black exteriorcan be given more interest with either carbon fiber accents or paint ext color. But in the last analysis, you've got to go with what fits your personality. It looks too dark to be GT silver to me, I still think it's seal grey. Other pictures of seal grey look just like it, obviously, the boxster above does not
I've chosen Seal Grey, but really struggled with the interior, I think grey is too similiar, I don't see the blue matching it, which leaves black. The problem is that I don't like black interiors ! Anyway after looking inside a new 997 I changed my mind. The black is more of a charcoal colour and it's lifted with some white stitching and the aluminium. However, this week I've changed my order to Black/Grey leather ! The best of both worlds, dark, but lifted by the grey !

Re the original post, I currently have a Basalt Black 911. It looked great when clean and shiny, but after 32,000 miles it is beginning to show every little stone chip, even when clean. This experience leads me to insist on a film 'bra' when the Cayman comes in.
The truth is that there wereNO ARCTIC silver cars in Spain.
All of the cars were either:
Seal Grey, GT Silver, Basalt Black, or Cobalt Blue.
(Somewhere I was misquoted as saying there we no GT Silver cars...and that is incorrect.)
BTW: Seal grey looks great w/ cocoa interior.
We did also see the following in Spain:
Dark Olive Metallic, White, Guards Red and Speed Yellow.
But the cars we drove were all either: Seal, GT Silver, Basalt or Cobalt.
Given Woodhouse's comment that there were no Arctic Silver Caymans in Spain, have we yet to see a picture in that color? Has every silver Cayman we have seen so far been GT Silver?
