Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
It may well do 160MPH, can go round a dinner plate at 50MPH without body roll, but fact is they will only ever do the school and Sainsbury's run (usually driven badly) and may on the odd occasion need to engage 4 wheel drive to get up that kerb.

Suggestion
I thought the disco failed the elk test ( a few weeks after the A class but it wasn't so highly publicised )?

Suggestion
Personally I think that Porsche has done the smart thing, paid for the development cost of it's new V8 using a revenue stream it wouldn't normally tap, and that won't impact on it's core sales.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
31 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

I take it there aren't going to be too many cheap GT2's gathering dust at the dealers after a flood of trade ins then.
Still, a 160mph off roader has to be good for a laugh - even if it does look like a cross between Daniella Westbrook and a black cab...
More americans die each year in suv rollover accidents than any other. Building ever faster trucks that dismally fail the 'elk tests' is asking for trouble.
The taller a vehicle the less stable it is. No matter what electric trickery pokery you strap to it, you can't alter physics. A high speed emergency lane change in an suv is not advisable. Statistics show these vehicles are dangerous to otheres and those numpties that choose to drive them.
It does look a lot better in motion than it does in any of the pictures. We saw a dark blue one on a roundabout just outside Jerez last week. Not my cup of tea though.
OK, so you can't really alter physics, but have you driven the latest Discovery V8? 50mph on a concentric circle pad and it just won't leave you... you can throw it about, but the electronics do a bloody good job....
50mph on a pad, thats half a mile wide, with 45 degrees body roll? From what I've heard it's not this gentle loading up of pressure thats tricky anyway, more the emergency lane change that unsettles.
Ok you're heading in the right direction, but to be a pedant, the height of the vehicle is not the issue, it's the weight distribution and more specifically where the vehicle centre of gravity lies.
As to whether the Cayenne will exhibit 911 levels of agility is not in doubt. As to how it will compare to the rest of the suv sector, I suggest we wait for the verdicts of those PHers who have stumped up the asking price.
I have a funny feeling that it will give the competition a good kicking in terms of balance and handling.
Personally I think that Porsche has done the smart thing, paid for the development cost of it's new V8 using a revenue stream it wouldn't normally tap, and that won't impact on it's core sales. As far as I can see it will probably be the 'best' suv out there. I doubt I'd like it, but then I'm not an suv fan.
But, when they announce the new V8 porsche sports car, I'll be queuing up with the rest of you...

On the flip side - I'd rather drop my kids off in a Porsche than a Rav 4 or Kia.....
not quite, a cayenne turbo has been officially timed round nurbergring at 8m42sec - thats the same time as an exige and 7 seconds FASTER than a XK-R (400bhp supercharged coupe!!)
for a bad handling bus thats pretty impressive!!
Bennno
I think the non turbo version (Cayenne S?) at about £45k for 340/350bhp seems good value. Especially in comparison to similarly performing SUVs, the ML55 and X5 4.6i. I'd also rather have porsche than a slower Range Rover!
I haven't seen one in the flesh yet, Although I'm sure I'll call into the local OPC for a look when they have one on show. Do they do the rear window black out option like you can get in M class mercs?
DAZ
On the basis that the record for a factory spec 996GT2 around the ring is 7.42, can someone please confirm the spec of the X5 that did the ring nearly a whole minute quicker than 8.42?
thanks
DAZ
It does rather undermine the argument that 4x4s are all inherently unstable jellies, doesn't it. With 700bhp it's certainly fast in a straight line, but it wouldn't lap that quickly if it didn't go round corners too. So there is hope for the Cayenne yet.
Having driven the ring a number of times I can totally agree with the above. Ring Lap times are largely about how much speed you can carry through the corners.
