if you run more aggressive Pagid brake bads, will that be used to cop out of wtee renewal as they're non-standard parts ?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok so technically nothing aftermarket is allowed, which i guess rules out obvious performance enhancing items, like exhausts, but does anyone have any experience of a new wtee being refused or accepted due to/despite more innocuous items, such as having a mobridge/denison ipod adapter or suspension items such as upgraded arb's or springs ? Interested to hear feedback on what things have been declined/accepted.

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

another thought, are non N-rated tyres also being cited as being unacceptable to the new wtee ? So if sayyou run Toyo R888's the opc won't offer cover unless changing to N-spec....

POST 3Original post

my renewal is due end of the month, not heard a word yet, i would expect a reminder letter? so, when that happens I'll find out!

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Indeed, it may be too early to get any meaningful feedback just yet given how long the new scheme is running, but time will tell...

POST 5Original post

At first OPC Mid Sussex said they couldn't put a warranty on my car because I had taken out the PCM1 and put a Kenwood unit in They then saw sense and the car was covered.

POST 6Original post

I've had my renewal letter (up on the 20th December), which came recorded delivery and as such needed to be signed for! This came about 2 weeks ago. It points out the cost + says the 111 point check is included. Hopefully the dealer will see sense at renewal time....will find out on the 15th! Cheers.

POST 7Original post

Oops, I could be in trouble, retro fit PCM2 (although I don't think that was covered by the old warranty anyway) - is it in the new one :? My tyres are also N rated, and only half worn. Seriously will be considering whether to renew come May when it's due........haven't had enough repairs completed (none in 18 months) and the only thing I got completed under warranty I had to fight for too, so not overly impressed. Might put the money in a separate account for repairs in case they come and only have the servicing completed at the OPC.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

"At first OPC Mid Sussex said they couldn't put a warranty on my car because I had taken out the PCM1 and put a Kenwood unit in They then saw sense and the car was covered." Presumably, given that PCM is now covered under the wtee, they are actually better off renewing your car as its one less thing for them to deal with, as you now don't have PCM !! It will be interesting to see how this pans out... if you run more aggressive Pagid brake bads, will that be used to cop out of wtee renewal as they're non-standard parts ? Frankly, if opc's have any shred of common sense, they'll use it, cuz continuall not renewing peoples wtees for trivial, non-covered items, will actually end up costing them a lot more money in future sales, servicing, reputation etc etc...
