thanks, i did check Reddit, no explanation on how to separate the cylinder, just the usual speeches about getting seal kits and deinstall/install of cylinders in the car.

I can see several tips on removing those cylinders from the car, but I cant find anything on actually replacing those damaged seals themselves.

Hi, I recently saw some discussions related to the seals of the hydraulic cylinders for a convertible top. Both my hydraulic cylinders are leaking fluid, so I removed them to investigate. In the meantime, I ordered new rod seals for those cylinders. I can see several tips on removing those cylinders from the car, but I cant find anything on actually replacing those damaged seals themselves. I have tried to unscrew the rod brackets in order to slide the rod out, but they are not unscrewing, the brackets are turning loose so they must be pressed. Any idea on gracefully separating those brackets from the rods? Thanks
