Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

There seems to be anoptionalbuilt-in phone with optional handset. However it is only a Tri-band GSM, making it less than perfect in the US. There is also a telephone preparation. However I'm not at all sure how that even works. Many cars have a Bluetooth phone capability now (Audi, BMW, Infiniti, Acura, Lexus, Jaguar) and MB has the great keypad. It looks like PCM has the keypad. How can you use it in the US? Thanks, David

POST 2Original post

Hi David The keypad you see on the dash is the telephone module (triband GSM) and it has a slot in it to take your sim card. It integrates with the PCM system and uses the display for your phonebook, call data etc., and routes the phone audio thru the speakers. If you dont buy the 'phone module, you still get the keypad, but no sim slot or phone. The optional handset is to enable private calls with this system. The telephonepreparation is (I believe) only available if you have not ordered PCM, and is a speaker, mic and mounting plate installed to take whichever cradle you need for your phone. Alas there is no Bluetooth with Porsche. My salesman told me that the boffins at Porsche dont believe bluetooth is a good enough solution for their cars ! I must say that the Bluetooth in my friends new BMW 535 is useless ! Hope this helps. Tony

If you ascribe to the position of Drive Now,Talk later: http://www.drivenowchatlater.com/ Then you would pull off the road to talk on the telephone, at which point you wouldn't need an integrated cell phone with your sports car. No offense, but when I am driving my Cayman people driving and talking on their phones become road hazards.

POST 4Original post

So will this work with Verizon phones? I actually wish it had bluetooth, I have it in my 2006 330 and it has been perfect so far.
