Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

As I'm getting my finger out and sorting my car, I need some fresh rubber on the front. I have a new pair of federal 595 rsr's To go on the back (285/30/18) that I got on a deal too good to pass up. I can't seem to find matching fronts now, or at least not without paying high end prices.
I know everyone will just say Michelin here but what's the options for grippy stuff. Mostly summer type stuff with hopefully a few track days.
The car will be set up fairly aggressively for track so wear rates don't bother me.
I'm thinking of going the fullhogg for 888's but they're probably too much.
What are the decently priced alternatives?
The federals for the front would be nice but I'm not worried about a different brand on the front. People get all too concerned with this and it just ends up needlessly expensive.
For what it's worth I want the front as sticky as possible. I've put some effort into stiffening up the chassis and some weight reduction.
This will only ever be my toy
Good to know about the nankangs as I had been eyeing them up. I'll cross them off the list but like everything else, if a deal comes up and they're too hard to pass on I'll have them.
Won't be be understeer central with wider than standard track days tyres on the back, and a mid-range road tyre on the front?
Op: I bought my C2 with 265rear and Kumho PS71 235/40 front. I got a puncture in one front and fitted a pair of PS4 225/40s. It had better front grip with the 235 Kuhmos. Might be worth going wider with them too.
Not on a 996.1, although I know many people run them.
I never struggle for rear grip with 265s
996.2 C2/C4 are 285.
GT3 is 235/40ZR18 on 8.5J front and 295/30ZR18 on 11J rear
