Am looking to get this done on my 996, can anyone recommend somewhere in the South/South West to do this - I live in NW Wiltshire so somewhere ideally within an hour or so would be good

Try Goggling welding services near to where you live.. I got mine done for £140.. The guy did a cracking job.. A good welder won't need to have done it before if you give them the specs and some pics.. My thread :- 'latest upgrades" from a few days ago will show you a pic of how mine turned out.. very happy with the results.. Now it sounds exactly as per the Porsche sports exhaust.

I got this guy to do mine back in 2016: https://www.autoyas.com/GB/Milton-Keynes/333450530116486/PCW-Exhaust-mods He installed a straight 1.5" pipe either side of the muffler (I think some places install a curved pipe instead*). Paul welded up both seams at the same time as they were corroded and splitting. Still look the same and in one piece 7 years on! It sounds much better as a result: more like a PSE with a richer, bassier note and mild pops on the overrun. Still relatively quiet below 3k revs too. *Only thing I would say is that after getting it done, it felt like there is a bit more back pressure as a result, a bit like when you have a blowing exhaust (ie as a result of the less smooth airflow) - might just be in my mind though.
