Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Generation: 20261026T061123Z · outcome-qualification-6. Deterministic extraction; no AI model inference. How we use sources

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well some of you may recall my recent thread (about 6 weeks ago) when i purchased a 996 C2 Cab ..which i thought (still do) was a cracking car. Well, the opportunity to get a 996 TT came about and i simply could not turn it down...again I couldn't really afford it but out came the man maths abacus ..and Hey Presto....i have a simply wonderful Turbo sat on the drive i picked up this morning. Its a L999 special order colour . "Dusky Mauve Metallic..which ive not seen before. Its a TIP which for me goes back on one of my mantra's ..but hey ho.., and Carbon everywhere..... i need to change the button shifter to the paddles but apart from that it will remain stock and as is.

POST 3Original post

Oh wow, what a colour ! Super rare for sure, the car looks lovely, time to enjoy it now...

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks guys id been toying with the idea of getting a TT for a few weeks but when I saw this colour my mind was made up.

POST 5Original post

I've probably seen a thousand different 996 Turbos but I've never seen one that colour. :thumb: You won't regret buying a Tip', that gearbox/engine combination is sublime. Enjoy

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you T8.... Yes I love the car so much that my wife, whom the car was for and I'd convinced to sell her VW T2 79 Camper to partially fund, said she preferred the 981 Boxster....so we've swapped...I think I got the better deal. I'm going to have to look at resetting the Tip and engine ECU's.. it would be interested to know if it's possible to change the Tip mapping to improve the lag ? It the car is better than my 997C2 I sold last year.

POST 7Original post

Now that is a superb looking car OP, the colour is outstanding and much like T8, I have never seen it before :worship: You may find that the gearbox has been driven for long periods in dawdle mode, ie it changes up very smoothly for a relaxed drive. Try double-stabbing the throttle and it will change to the most aggressive of its 256 maps, which should make you smile. An engine remap makes the car come alive - huge fun with 500 hp, enormously capable and still b***** fast, even by today's standards. Enjoy the ride....

POST 8Original post

Unusual colour Turbo, very nice. What exhaust does it have?

POST 9Original post

Same colour used on 90's VW's. Mk3 Golf Gti and VR6 mainly. Looks cool on the 996.
