Seems always after the car has warmed and I've done a highish speed run, coming up to lights, rough idle and stall and the code pops up.

I keep getting an intermittent P1341 code pop up every few weeks. Seems always after the car has warmed and I've done a highish speed run, coming up to lights, rough idle and stall and the code pops up. I believe this is the vario cam solenoid sticking open for the higher rev range. I just get this on Bank 1. I am going to replace the solenoid, but of the two - timing and high lift, which one is the probable offender? and if anyone has the part code that would be brilliant.

The code would appear to be the camshaft solenoid .

Did you cure your problem with this code P1341, I have the same issue and will be investigating it in the next couple of days. I was going to swap bank one with bank two to see if the problem swaps banks and eliminate the wiring being the culprit. I also need to work out which actuator is which beforehand and the part number is also alluding me at the moment.

Careful if you swap them over as I've experienced oil leaks. Probably best to replace.

I have just fitted new oil seals on all 4 so I would hope there won't be any leaks after refitting

I swapped out the solenoid, cheap and easy so did it anyway. The error code was intermittent and bore scoring overtook it as main concern, so it is at our friends at Hartech for a full rebuild. The one I took out looked ok, didn't test it's operation on the bench though. I have a similar issue with the cam position sensor so wasn't sure if it was a wider electrical issue. I guess I'll know once I get it back from Hartech if the new one resolves it all
