Ive also checked the relays in the back for AC and they are fine. Although im still not sure which is the exact fuse for this.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hi Knowledgable's - hope you can help. Disconnected the battery to fit a new stereo all working fine. Start the car and now no cold air and the front fans turn on straight away - why? Checked the fuses under the dash but i don't know which is the exact fuse so bit of a punt. Got codes 8033 and C141 under the Air Conditioning System section. Any tips welcomed - cheers. 2008 Cayman base.

POST 2Original post

The very first thing I would do before I drove it any further would be to make sure that the compressor is turning freely. It may be failing and as a result potentially binding.

POST 3Original post

I have a 981 but two years ago my fan all of a sudden went full blast on me. I had AC but could not control the fan at all. Turned out to be the fan sensor under the dash on the passenger side. I bought the part online, $45 I think, and installed myself. All is well.

POST 4Original post

Since the AC/Heat control is right below where you installed the new stereo I suspect you disturbed a wiring harness or may some mistake in connecting the stereo, I know it is no fun disassembling all that but you need to start where you last worked.

POST 5Original post

Ditto that. Unless it is a coincidence that this problem showed up right after your head unit work, it would appear to be related to something that got unplugged or moved around and not making contact or shorting out.

POST 6Original post

Anyone know which is the correct fuse to check as well ?

POST 7Original post

The AC control unit fuse is Row B, number 8, and is a 7.5 amp fuse. The fuse box is in the drivers side footwell.

POST 8Original post

I'm also seeing a AC control unit fuse in Row B, number 2, 25 amp fuse, in the passenger side footwell fuse box! I guess you have two to look at.

POST 9Original post

Ok to add to this and thinking back when i re-connected the battery my spanner decided to slip and for a second touched the positive battery terminal and the A/C air dryer setup and produced a spark. So i checked ALL the fuses and nothing had blown so i (maybe incorrectly) assumed id got away with it, Ive also checked the relays in the back for AC and they are fine. Although im still not sure which is the exact fuse for this. Any ideas folks ? Cheers

POST 11Original post

Gee I'm sorry, I thought I was responding to a 981 issue 😔

POST 12Original post

Thought that might be the case when you mentioned a fusebox in the right footwell - there is only one fusebox on the 987, drivers footwell. There are some other fuses randomly scattered around just to keep the DIY owner on their toes.
