Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Re:- Latest upgrades Just thought I'd share a few updates I've had done recently on my 02 Cabriolet which have put a smile on my face.. So first off I had the trim refreshed by GP Leathertech.. fantastic job done by Peter and the guys can't recommend them enough the leather now looks back to how it looked the day it left the showroom after just short of 19 years Next up I've had the seatbelt webbing changed to yellow by Quickfit safety belts which I'm really pleased with and a fairly inexpensive upgrade. I've also had the dials changed to yellow to match which with the belts breaks up the dark (Metropole blue) interior and gives the cockpit a real lift.. Cruise control was fitted at the same time when the dash binnacle was removed. Also had my Wheels refurbed by Chris at Exel wheels..They look perfect and factory fresh but as a lot will know already his work speaks for its self.. Lastly I found a good welder locally and had the Gundo Hack done to my exhaust boxes which is a very neat job..Nice increase in exhaust note without being to intrusive.. Ive run the muffler delete pipes on a previous 996 and they were crazy loud.. I've attached some pics below

POST 2Original post

Nice upgrades, loving the dials and seatbelts, biased...... who me :floor:

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I see like my dial you too now have a Fahrenheit temp gauge..I didn't notice it until it came time to fit them and it was going to be to much trouble to send it back for a centigrade replacement. I bought mine from Germany and assumed that when I stated I wanted a MPH speedo they give you a set destined for the American market.. Not an issue I know as the needle sits in the same place when up to temperature.. 80c being 176f.

POST 4Original post

Yes, exactly the same, when they arrived I just checked they were MPH, like you it's no biggy as it's more about needle position. Anymore mods planned?

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Next few things I'm thinking of are a deep sump kit, sports manifolds and 200 cel cats.. other interior plans are to restore a set of sports seat I have.. paint the backs alloy look and have the centres changed to black & white pasha cloth.. I've got a spare centre console so I'll look to get that painted to match the seat backs.. What mods have you done other than the dials and steering wheel ??

POST 6Original post

I'm currently preparing to fit a SW Motorsport rear half cage, yellow of course, I've currently got sports seats but the plan is to swap to Recaro Pole Positions, it's basically morphing into a poor man's GT3/CSR :thumb:

POST 7Original post

Nice mods gents. 8) JT your leather looks great now. :thumb:

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Mark.. I so happy with how it's turn out.. it's the door cards that I notice the most... no shine or finger nail marks it's perfect.

POST 9Original post

Mind if I ask how much the seatbelt work was. I'm really keen on some red belts

POST 10Original post

Work looks good. I thought a normal gundo mod on the exhaust backboxes was to link the inlet (between the flexi and silencer in your photo) to straight ahead of the tail pipe trip. What you've had done looks very smart and retains the complete range of adjustment on the exhaust. Has anyone got photos of one of these silencers cut open to see whats going internally?

POST 11Original post

The seats look amazing!! How much was it to get the leather done? Were your seats in a bad state or just a bit cracked?

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

it cost me £26 to post them..just under 2kg in weight. then £183 inc VAT and return postage. time wise a week door to door I think you can book it in and they will do them while you wait if you don't want to take them out your self

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It was £800.. Overall the seats weren't actually that bad as the car has only done 38000 miles.. All the parts in the photo were done bar the passage seat.. Plus any remaining scratches scuffs or nail marks in the interior were also done..They had the car a week having booked it in 4 weeks earlier It now literally looks like brand new.. If you look at there Instagram it will show you what they can do seats wise.. But its things like the door cards and gear knob/steering wheel I really notice.. A truly great job and nice guys. if you are interested speak to Peter instagram @gp_leathertech The exhaust Gundo Hack.. pipe and welding was £140 using a local guy I found online The wheel refurb by Chris.. Exel wheels to factory spec and colour was £500..He came to my house to collect and put a set of turbo twists (you can see them in the trim out photo above) on while my wheels were done.. I've had wheels done else where but not to this standard.. I wouldn't use anyone else now

POST 14Original post

Cant agree more regarding Exel Wheels - great service and have had the pleasure twice now. Great looking interior by the way.

POST 15Original post

Re:- Latest upgrades I commented on their Instagram post saying what a great job they had done on that lot. Nice to see it's a forum member's car. Will definitely be getting them in the job when funds allow.
