Nice to know it's not too bad to change the compressor though as I'm quite sure I will need to do it next summer.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

After my fairly extensive aircon refurb back in 2015, it failed again last year. I found a leak on the compressor shaft. Got around to sorting it recently, got a ebay s/h one for £25, put some pag oil in it and it went in nicely. After faffing around with the rear bolt using wobbles etc and getting nowhere. I found a straight extension went straight on as long as you get the angle correct and the bolt off in under a minute. Put a new dryer on 30 mins before I got it recharged. Anyhow the point of the post is that groupon are doing ATS recharge for £35 at the moment, bargain. Drove home yesterday, in a cold car, a novelty after a year.

POST 2Original post

My compressor shaft is also leaking a bit when the car sits during winter, but so far it's been fine and no leaks then the thing gets driven. Nice to know it's not too bad to change the compressor though as I'm quite sure I will need to do it next summer.
