Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

However, I use a cut-down cup-holder to securely hold my iPhone when using that as a sat-nav, which means I have to finish my coffee before getting back in the car.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi
sorry newbie and probably asking something that has been answered 000's of times but i am looking for a good solution for a cup holder please.
thank you!
My turbo had the Gen1 dash, no cup holders and no glove box, but someone has retrofitted the factory Gen 2 cupholders and they work perfectly :thumb:
I would say phone 9apart, probably expensive from Porsche
It's a little tight against the ignition but not a big deal. They are the standard Porsche offering in the early cars so if you have a number of holes around the vent (1 each side and 1 at the bottom) these will clip straight in.

I'm going to go with the vent mounted one for my 996.1. The Gen.2 genuine holder would be nice, but requires the full horse shoe trim and vents. That 1DIN version just looks tatty, so no thanks!
Must just be me then.
I've never understood the need to carry boiling hot coffee to drink in a sports car. :dont know:
This now seems to be such an important design feature, yet was barely around 10 years ago. What changed, an addiction to caffeine amongst the public?
I've never used them in any of my vehicles with them fitted. I may take a bottle of squash for long journeys, but that's as near as I get to not being able to drive a car without a constant caffeine feed.
I have one of the original cup holders in either door bin, small faff to fit but they work very well once in place.

For whatever reason I tend to have a coffee in the cup-holder of the E63 quite often, for the 996 it never really occurs to me that I want one whilst I drive along. My suspicion is that it's related to the E63 being an auto, giving me a spare hand for coffee drinking activities.
