Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I put £30 in yesterday and driving back from Wales to Wolverhampton only used 1/4 of the tank.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So I've just clocked my first 1000 miles in my smashing 2001 C4 and these are my thoughts: 1 - Having had a 3.2 Boxster S before my C4 IMO this car is a much better feeling drive. It eats up the motorway miles, but is still lively enough to be fun on the twisty turny roads of North Wales. 2 - The seats are far more comfortable. Even though I only have the standard C4 seats they are 10 times more comfortable than the Boxster. When I get out of this car I don't walk like Mrs Overall from Acorn Antiques. 3 - It sounds amazing. Even with the standard exhaust I love the sound. 4 - I've been pleasantly surprised with the fuel consumption. I put £30 in yesterday and driving back from Wales to Wolverhampton only used 1/4 of the tank. 5 - There's so much room. On paper the Boxster apparently has more storage space but the C4 wins hands down with the back seats down. 6 - My wife likes it  [/img]

POST 2Original post

interesting comparison between the two. I can remember my first drive in my old 996, amazing times 8)

POST 3Original post

I had Boxster S before the 996 C4 and the Mrs has a Boxster 2.7 The Boxster in all its forms is a great car but the 996 is on another level :thumb:

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yep, that's exactly how I see it. I still can't stop doing the 996 Owners 'over the shoulder' look back at the car when ever I park it anywhere

POST 5Original post

OP, am glad you enjoyed your drive back from Wales. Now driving a Cayman as a daily, but also drive a 911. You are right, different driving experiences when you compare the two. In my eyes, one is better for point and squirt sort of journies, and the other is more of a mile muncher. But depending on my mood, they can, and do, often swap roles.
