Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a very random and intermittent issue with my 996 C4 Tip that i'm hoping anyone might be able to help me with. Every now and then I apply the throttle and it's like someone suddenly turned the tap off on the throttle between me/the pedal and the engine but it always seems to be when i'm accelerating. The revs don't die off but they just don't go up anymore either. At first I thought it was a slipping gearbox but have since been advised gearbox is all ok and it isn't in a particular gear either or RPM. It might happen just after i've set off or I might be doing 50/60mph. It only lasts a second and nearly every time once it cuts back in the D on the dash flashes (but only D not 4 as well). It's like the car hasn't caught up with the amount of throttle being applied. As some further investigating with a live read out via a bluetooth obd reader monitoring the throttle usage vs MAF for example the graphs always show that the throttle goes first before anything else. Leading me to think this may be the egas pedal, throttle body or ecu. So far i've cleaned the MAF, had an ATF change, showing no fault codes as read by 3 separate parties and 2 places have said not a clue. Am stumped! But some days it won't do it at all and drives perfect, so odd. If anyone has any ideas or thoughts gladly welcomed.

POST 2Original post

Does it happen at roughly the same revs ballpark every time or could be anytime when accelerating ?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'd probably say in a bracket wise somewhere between 2,500 and 4,000 would be where it happens mostly. But i've had it happen 'on the charge' at 5,000 as well. :dont know:
