Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 3Original post

I have jacked my Carrera up many times by using the oil pan. Maybe I am lucky, I don't know. The oil pan is robust and if you have a normal (3 or 4 inch) round plate on your jack... You will be ok. Check out Renntech.org. Many, many DIY guys just jack it up from the pan. I have lifted the whole 911 and removed the wheels using the oil pan as a jack point.

POST 4Original post

If you do that you need to make sure your wood blocking is supporting the sides of the pan. If you jack in the center of the bottom plate, you risk punching through. Personally I don't do that and would use two jacks simultaneously at each side jacking point. The put stands on a suspension support.

POST 5Original post

I used the crossmember in front of the oil pan. It seemed solid with two reasonable places for jack stands for safety. It worked out nicely for changing the rear pads. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
