hi guys my roof on my 996 02 c2 cab started to cause headache over the weekend, when i close the roof it closes as normal until the hook catches the latch near the interior light. The hook keeps on unhooking itself & trying to rehook again & again. any ideas please? I cannot close the rear windows

I think it might be the microswitch which tells the system that the latch is locked. This would prevent the rear windows from closing. Item 5 in the picture in this post: http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/fb.asp?m=489643

The roof can be recalibrated using the Porsche Tester, and is required after any work has been carried out on the roof mechanism. It is a 5-minute job. I wouldn't have thought it was necessary if it was just the microswitch though.

What I've been told is because I don't allow the roof to go through a complete cycal e.g roof close windows up etc now it needs to know how to do it again hence recalibrating
