Hiya,
I'm having a lot of trouble getting the
CDR24
replaced in my
2006 Cayman S
w/
Bose
. Here's what I have;
Head unit:
https://www.crutchfield.ca/S-enJ8flZdQAk/p_500ILXW650/Alpine-ILX-W650.html
Fascia kit:
https://www.carcommunications.co.uk...-din-fascia-fitting-kit-for-porsche-ct23po03?mfp=4-product-type[Fascia Adaptor]
MOST adapter:
https://avinusa.com/most-fiber-optic-amp-interface-for-porsche-cayenne.html
Aerial adapter:
https://www.carcommunications.co.uk/connects2-fakra-to-din-aerial-antenna-adaptor-for-bmw-ct27aa06
The first AVIN adapter was missing the red wire so the shop tried to install it and obviously failed. I didn't notice the missing wire from their picture so I contacted them and they sent me a new wiring plug. Took it back to the shop to show them the new one and they said I'm still missing a CAN adapter?
I found this thread on here:
https://www.planet-9.com/987-cayman...n-and-boxster-electronics/233407-ae0273b-08a-install-2006-porsche-cayman-s.html
Which led me to his blog:
http://jimroal.blogspot.com/2018/08/porsche-cayman-s-car-stereo-head-unit.html
Near the bottom he links a few kits that include both the MOST and CAN adapter. The site doesn't appear to sell them separately. Does anyone know where I can buy a CAN adapter that will work with my setup? Am I missing anything else? Hoping to get this installed asap
Thanks!

Found this thread:

I sent it to them... I wonder if they didn't remove the plastic piece in front of the fiber connector :|

Took it back in again and on the second attempt they feel they had it connected properly but there was no audio. The amp isn't being powered on. The head unit I bought does include remote-on as their site said it requires. They didn't connect it because they said there's no way to plug it into the amp. In the user guide it shows a blue wire that comes out of the back of the head unit. Is this supposed to be spliced into something? The only directions I got from Avin was a Google Doc and the shop said none of it matches my car. The label on the back of the MOST adapter does list my gen
Cayman
. Any info on what is going on and how to fix it is appreciated!
Hi,
I installed a
Kenwood
Head Unit and the adapter kit from Crutchfield. You don't have the same adapter I bought from crutchfield. I spend like $300 on the adapter kit. However, I installed it myself and followed the wiring instructions and it works great. I'm thinking your adapter isn't sufficient to communicate with the
Bose amp
or is broken.
Is this the kit you bought?

Does this kit include

? It looks like it does in the picture.
[edit] Nope different part. Going to return the Avin and purchase this kit instead. [/edit]
