I'm assuming there's a relay in or around the fuse box to check first?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

2001 996 Turbo - rear wiper does nothing when the lever's pressed. Obviously I'm doing something wrong because the rear wiper is never required. When driving this car correctly, one never need look in the rear window because other vehicles are always disappearing into the distance. But aside from wiper delete - what's the usual cause? I'm assuming there's a relay in or around the fuse box to check first?

POST 2Original post

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks. Is there an easy self-diagnosis and fix for that? Turn it on and move it manually? WD-40? Percussive maintenance?

POST 4Original post

My Audi motor still works, but separating the wiper blade from the shaft if a butt clenching exercise as the possibility of breaking the glass is high. I bottled it. I was using a puller and a it all got too tense.

POST 5Original post

I had it on my 996. Literally the drive from the motor seizes in the bush located in the glass. You need to remove the wiper arm and grommet. then apply lots of WD40 and let it rest. after 24 hours try with pliers to work the mechanism from under neath in a anticlockwise/clockwise motion until it frees off, I gingerly tapped the top of the spline (with retaining nut re attached) with a hammer and kept working back and forth until I could remove the spline. After removal, clean up both surfaces with wet and dry, grease and re assemble. Test and have a beer!
