Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

To anyone trying to remove the trim on the pillar, I'd strongly recommend removing the trim that is to the rear first.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Does anyone know where the Antenna Preamp (booster) is mounted (located) in a 1st Gen. 2008 Cayman . I have almost no am reception and want to change it out to maybe an aftermarket antenna preamp.

POST 2Original post

In my 2007 Cayman S it is located in the passenger side windshield pillar. Just found a broken white wire possibly cased by a windshield replacement. I soldered and taped the wire and now AM radio is back. To anyone trying to remove the trim on the pillar, I'd strongly recommend removing the trim that is to the rear first. I'll make things much easier and you won't risk scratching the very soft paint on the trim. Anyone know a source for the clips that hold the trim on? Lost one into the frame.

POST 3Original post

The part number for the clip is 999-507-839-01. I ordered some from Sunset Porsche last year, but Pelican and ECS also has them.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
