I am replacing the speakers and wanted to know if anyone has any specific recommendation for a low profile sub that I could mount potentially under the passenger seat or elsewhere.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

All - I have an 2012 Cayman S with the upgraded Bose system and after eight years, am finally upgrading things. I am replacing the speakers and wanted to know if anyone has any specific recommendation for a low profile sub that I could mount potentially under the passenger seat or elsewhere. Ideally, I don’t want to impact the ability for anyone to adjust their seat (up or down, or backward or forward). I also don’t want to lose any of the already small storage space in back. So, hopefully something high quality but w/ a small form factor. This is just to “fill out” / compliment the sound of the other speakers, not for a pounding bass. Appreciate any thoughts and hope everyone is set for a great summer.

POST 2Original post

I have a 2008 Cayman S . I think they are very similar in the rear cargo area. I molded fiberglass enclosures to add a pair of 8" low profile ( Pioneer TS-SW2002D2) woofers in the corners behind the tail lights. No loss of usable space and just the right amount of low end punch.

POST 3Original post

I recall a thread a couple years ago where someone had added an under-seat subwoofer. Brief search yielded nothing, but you might want to see if you can find the thread.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
