Firstly, my car came fitted with a GT3 rear bumper which is great, but the tail pipes do not protrude from the rear & so the plastic has melted slightly round one of the exhaust exits.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone I recently bought a very nice MY98 C4 & have had a great time getting used to it over the past couple of weeks. I have a couple of questions which I'd be grateful if anyone could provide any help with. Firstly, my car came fitted with a GT3 rear bumper which is great, but the tail pipes do not protrude from the rear & so the plastic has melted slightly round one of the exhaust exits. Can I just switch the rear pipes for slightly longer ones to prevent further damage, or is there some kind of heat shield I can fit instead ? Also I have been thinking of fitting some GT3 side skirts and was hoping someone could post up a picture of a C4 with them fitted so I could see what they're like (preferably on a black car !). Thanks in advance.

POST 2Original post

A pic would help, but it might be that the tips just need adjusting. I suspect the clamps will be rusted up though, so it might not be easy. Here is what they should measure:
