Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I downloaded a pin out of OBD and will check for power.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Good Morning All, So trying to reset my service indicator and plugged in my OBD scanner and nothing. Didn't light up, nothing. Tried a second reader and nothing. Looked at the fuse guide and pulled 4-5 fuses that looked like it could be the port fuse but sadly no luck. Anyone have any idea on how to troubleshoot? (Tested both testers on my Audi and they worked fine). Thanks Thom 08 Cayman S

POST 2Original post

Hss this scanner worked in the past on the Cayman ? Before doing electrical/component troubleshooting, I'd check for bent pin(s) on the OBD port.

POST 3Original post

I bought one of those launch 2 ones that have Porsche stuff in it. The scanner pins are good and moved it straight to my Q5 and didn't have any issues. I did some more research and people were talking there may be a procedure to prevent something from crashing. Didn't really pay attention on the order. Never had to on any other car. I downloaded a pin out of OBD and will check for power. Hoping it is something simple. I will also flash light the port (holy crap it is tight under the dash and I am not near as flexible as I used to be.) Thanks

POST 4Original post

Checked every fuse. Pulled out and looked at connector. Put back together and then pushed in my scanner with all my might. Bam works. So I have to just push stupid hard.
