Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

But then Mike from sports and classic in manchester sorted it in 5 mins he just changed the abs sensor (so obviously wasn't done before) and adjusted the brake pedal switch!
Leading evidence: 'Adjust brake pedal switch' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'brake pedal switch' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Adjust brake pedal switch' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

as mike said i've changed a few brake pedal switches for the said fault too and cured them.

It was the brake pedal switch on andys 996 that was not correctly set up if i remember correctly but we did fit the pressure sensor in the pump as we had one just to make sure as he lived so far away...
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi
I have recently experienced the ABS & PSM lights comming on to tell me they are not working, anyone seen this fault before??
How much to rectify ??
Cheers Paul
If you turn off the engine and restart and it does not reappear its probably the MAF sensor. Could be on its way out or just playing its occasional japes. Ive had it very occasionally since fitting a K&N cone filter and had no bother.
Seems to do it all the time now......
Hi All
Thanks for the quick response, will take it to my local indy,
I start the car, and then after maybe two minutes the ABS and then att he same time the PSM lights come on with a beep.... used to go off again if i stopped and started the engine, but that doesnt cure it any more either..
thanks, Paul
Hi
I had exactly the same problem and after taking to an indy about 6 times
and them losing my warranty because of their incompetence.
they changed maf, abs sensor (supposedly) etc etc etc...... they said it deffo was the abs module/pump which would cost me around £2000!!!!!!!!!!!
But then Mike from sports and classic in manchester sorted it in 5 mins he just changed the abs sensor (so obviously wasn't done before) and adjusted the brake pedal switch!
Never had the problem since!
Hello
It was the brake pedal switch on andys 996 that was not correctly set up if i remember correctly but we did fit the pressure sensor in the pump as we had one just to make sure as he lived so far away... all cases are different and will need properley diagnosing or it will cost you big £££
Mike
This happened to me yesterday! Accelerating hard(ish) and the two lights came on. Managed to get it home, although it repeadtely stalled at junctions and didn't want to go into gear.
AA came out and plugged in their diagnostic and it came up with 'torque converter circuit open'. Had it towed to my indy for examination today! I'll keep you posted on the outcome.
Good Luck
Thanks guys.... she's going in to Autotech 9 (S Wales) and on their diagnostic computer at 09.30 tomorrow (Saturday)
Will let you know what happens.....
Mine has behaved very well... no other symptoms apart from the lights comming on.... its been very wet and slippery the last few days but she still grips like a goodun, however i havnt taken any undue chances due to the lack of ABS & PSM and conditions....
Thanks Paul :thumb:
Hello
any news on the diagnostic ?
Mike
To the other person with the car that the AA plugged into..you need an air-mass sensor as it should read torque transfer disturbed from DME...
This is a classic break down of the information from air-mass to DME.
Mike
had diagnostic done
Ok, been up to my local indy, plugged and played and it seems the sensor 4460 requires changing, apparently this is the ABS sensor...
anyone had that done on here?? and if so some idea of cost would be good
Thanks again all
Paul
